Taco Shack will be the Taqueria’s first sit-down location, complete with full bar serving margaritas and a series of cocktails built ever-trendy mezcal.

Sweet Charlie’s

Where362 Mamaroneck Avenue, Mamaroneck
This East Coast chain will bring Thai-rolled ice cream to Westchester. Bases include frozen-yogurt and vegan options, and topping combos feature flavors like chocolate-peanut-butter pretzel, s’mores, mint Oreo, and the SoCal, made with açai, honey, coconut, and banana.

Decadent Ales Taproom at Half Time

Where: 139 Hoyt Avenue, Mamaroneck
It’s already the county’s best beer store, but starting this spring, Half Time will also be home to Decadent Ales’ brewing operations. The store will convert space into a brewery and taproom for the Mamaroneck-based brewery, where they’ll pour Decadent on draft and lines curated by Half Time. Plans include a full restaurant menu.

Seems like summer planning gets earlier and earlier each year! Some summer camp registrations have already begun so it is time to sign your child(ren) up for some fun activities. Here are a few option in our area:

  • Rye YMCA – Offers a variety of half and full day summer camps for children ages 3-17. A packed session of daily swim lessons and instructional sports plus science, arts, music and much more.
  • Rye Recreation Department – Offers full and half day summer camp programs for children aged 3 through 8th grade, with extended care available.
  • Rye Arts Center – Offers summer programs for ages 4 to 12 years old.
  • Rye Nature Center – Offers adventurous and educational summer programs for children aged 3½ to 13 years. Set on 47 acres of forest and trails, the camp creates an enthusiastic and active atmosphere for children to explore a variety of ecosystems and become connected to nature.
  • Harrison Recreation Department – Four days camps offering sports, arts, crafts, swimming, music and weekly specials.
  • Purchase Day Camp – A professional staff of over 60 teachers oversees this day camp for ages 3 to 14 years old. Campers enjoy 4 heated pools, climbing wall and zip line, rocketry, computers, crafts and sports twice a day.
  • Future Stars Tennis Camp – Weekly day camp June through August for campers 3½ to 16 years old on the SUNY Purchase campus.
  • Rye Racquet Club – Features day camps intended for children ages 8 to 16.
  • Purchase College Youth & Pre-College Programs – This is a great summer arts program for students from 6 to 18 years old who love to act, sing and dance, paint, write creatively, be a reporter, take pictures, make movies, play jazz, or write songs.
  • US Sports Institute Camps – Includes Sport Squirts, Multi Sport, Lacrosse and Lacrosse Squirts
