Fall Landscaping Checklist

It finally feels like fall today and as I look out my window I am reminded that it is time to start prepping my lawns and garden beds for the cooler weather. Whether you are a DIY or prefer to hire outside help, remember to make sure you do the following so your property looks its best next spring:

• Aerate the Lawn
• Feed the Grass (seed and fertilize)
• Mow the Lawn (shorter is better in the fall)
• Collect Leaves
• Plant New Shrubs and Evergreens
• Trim Dead Limbs and Cut Back Perennials
• Mulch Young Plants

Fun Weekend Activity this Fall…Apple Picking

BEST APPLE PICKING IN WESTCHESTER
Even though it is still warm out it is definitely time to start thinking about fall apple picking. We are lucky because New York State is the largest apple growing state east of the Mississippi.  Many local orchards even offer more than just tasty apples…corn mazes, hay rides and homemade products such as doughnuts, honey, pies and maple syrup make this weekend activity a great option for the entire family.
